rising achievers

After School Care

Our after school care programme, Rising Achievers, operates Monday to Friday from 3pm until 4.30pm during the school terms.  Trained volunteers provide our Marfell children learning support with daily homework and a range of activities to develop resilience.  This programme is about community working together to raise achievement of the whole child in a sustained positive way. Rising Achievers is made possible by Marfell Community Trust and includes:
  • healthy after school kai
  • extramural activities and outings such as swimming, arts and craft, etc
  • cooking and caring for others (tuakana teina)
  • mentoring of families to support home learning to their own whanau
. 
Entry to the programme is by prioritised referral by:
  • social service agencies, lawyers,
  • teachers – educators working with a child
  • parents, family or whanau.
